There will be changes beginning in the new year for the libertarian syndicated radio program Free Talk Live.
Show host Ian Freeman reported the news earlier this month but publicly announced the changes during Friday’s broadcast.
Effective January 1, Free Talk Live is returning to its original home syndicator Genesis Communications Network. The show switched to Talk Media Network in 2021 during the pandemic.
Also, on the production end, the show is cutting down commercial breaks to only twice per hour from the standard four commercial breaks the show has had. This is a decision that both Freeman and co-host Mark Edge have been considering for nearly two decades.
Under the former live show clock, commercial breaks would enter at the 16, 30, 43, and 58-minute marks. Under the new clock, commercial breaks will enter at the 30 and 58-minute marks. This would increase the talk time per hour from 39:20 to 47:30, an increase of 8 minutes and 10 seconds.
Heartland Newsfeed Radio Network is a direct affiliate of Free Talk Live, meaning we contacted the host directly instead of going through its syndicator. In respect towards our advertisers, we will not be changing our commercial break clock at this time. This means the four-break clock will remain in effect for not only the live show, but also the encore broadcast.
